How to Create a Banner Campaign

The best way to notify the visitors of your webshop about the running actions, events, and sales, is to place a visual banner in the visible place, which will provide the information and redirect the visitors to the desired campaign page. With TronShop, you can easily place any banner in many predefined places!

As a first step, you need to create a campaign in the Campaigns section. Within the creating, you need to set up the page, all the banners in the campaign should be directed on (product, product category, etc.) and if the action is time-limited, you can also define the period, when the banners will be visible for this event in the webshop and when to hide them.

After the campaign is created, you need to upload individual banners, including all its versions for other language mutations of your webshop and determine where the banners should be displayed.

On the detailed page of the campaign in the Banners tab, use the “+” button to open the File Browser, which will offer you two options – either choose from uploaded images or use the “Upload New File” button to upload a new image from your PC. In the Type field it is then necessary to select the position in the webshop, where the selected image will be displayed. You can choose from:

  • Homepage Top Big Carousel
  • Homepage Top Small Matrix
  • Footer Bottom Carousel
  • Product Catalogue Top Big Carousel
  • Product Catalogue Top Small Matrix
  • Product Detail Under Left Images
  • Product Detail Under Right Informations
  • Product Detail Big Carousel Above Tabs

During the final step, you only need to determine which pages you want your campaign to appear on. In the Campaign section, in the Pages tab, select a specific site or an entire group/category from the menu.

Now everything should work. You have successfully added an advertising banner.

How to Create the Product Selection

Message and E-mail Notification Management

Many actions within your webshop require an e-mail report or notification. For example, information about completing a customer’s registration, accepting an order, or an email with a link to recover the forgotten password.

All these messages can be edited in the Email Templates administration in the section Settings → Communications. All you have to do is to select a specific message type and open the page to edit the email using the pen button icon.

Each email can have a unique version, used for each of the language mutations ​​of your webshop. Using the pen button icon it is possible to directly edit specific texts and email for the selected language.

If you are expirienced in HTML and CSS, then you can customize the final form of your emails yourself by editing the source code in the email content editor. Otherwise please feel free to contact us.

 

Adding the Script In the Code

A lot of marketing tools such a Google Analytics require some code to be inserted. To insert any code into your TronShop, use the External scripts in the section Settings → Advanced Functions.

Using the “+” button to open a dialog where you need to name the code and insert the code itself. Then just click the Save button and your code will be immediately available in the source code of your webshop.

How to implement Google Tracking (tracking visitors and pages):

Go to the section Settings > Advanced Functions > External Scripts and click on the button (ADD).

Now fill in the mandatory fields Name, Script target and Script position. Very important is “Script target” and select right option “EVERY PAGE – EVERY USER” (script will be rendered into any HTML page of webshop to track every pageview).
You can also select from 2 option in „Script position“:

  • In Head Section – webshop can be a little slower, but more visitors will be tracked
  • Before Body End – webshop can be little faster, but some visitors (who quickly exit) won’t be tracked … we recommend this option

Then insert the appropriate Google Tracking script, in which:

  • change “YOUR-GOOGLE-IDENTIFICATOR” to ID provided by Google
  • you can use different script provided by Google (like Google Tag Manager) – in this case use only appropriate identificator to your script version

And then just click SAVE.

How to implement Google Ecommerce Tracking (tracking orders and order details):

Go to the section Settings > Advanced Functions > External Scripts and click on the button (ADD).

Now fill in the mandatory fields Name, Script target and Script position. Very important is “Script target” and select right option “ORDER CONFIRMATION PAGE” (script will be rendered into HTML only at this specific page with order confirmation).

Then insert the appropriate Google Ecommerce script, in which:

  • change “YOUR-GOOGLE-IDENTIFICATOR” to ID provided by Google
  • use available placeholders {{CODE}} shown in the screenshot below – they will be replaced by appropriate value
  • you can use different script provided by Google – in this case use only appropriate placeholders to your script version

And then just click on SAVE.

 

This is example how webshop render JavaScript code to track all items in stored order. This code is replaced instead of {{GOOGLE_ECOMMERCE_ITEMS}} placeholder. If you leave this placeholder, this items won’t be generated and tracked. If you need different structure of JavaScript code to track order items, it is unfortunatelly not possible now. It only can be developed as custom service. Contact us in this case.
